Developing Forms and Constructing the Head.

While still focusing on the nose I start to branch out and explore the features across the face and also how the head connects with the body.

In particular i noted how the neck leans forward at an angle and is flanked by a cord like tendon (Sternocleidmastoid) which originates from the centre of the collar bone then travels up and around the neck which inserts into the base of the skull just behind the ear.

I am also starting to develop a greater sense of appreciation for the forms and volumes of which I am depicting.

for example the lips in the top right corner, I am noticing the lower lip is essentially a rounded platform that tapers out but essentially follows a curve across its width. However the upper lip is a little more complex which I will go into greater detail in another post.
